South Korean visual effects studio Mofac is pioneering AI integration to transform film production workflows. Founder Jang Seong-ho predicts the technology will enable his team to produce a feature-length film and series annually with just one or two personnel—a task previously requiring hundreds. The shift comes as studios seek cost-effective solutions after pandemic-era disruptions.

Mofac's breakthrough animated feature King of Kings, adapted from Dickens' The Life of Our Lord, demonstrates the potential of lean production models. Despite its modest $25 million budget—a fraction of typical Hollywood costs—the film has grossed $60 million domestically and is tracking toward $100 million globally. The project gained momentum when A-list actors Kenneth Branagh, Oscar Isaac, and Uma Thurman joined during pandemic delays.

Industry adoption accelerates as competitors like Pencil Studios develop AI-assisted remakes of classics such as A Better Tomorrow. Galaxy Corp. similarly invests in machine learning tools, signaling broader transformation across South Korea's entertainment sector.
